Production
The production of Supertech racing valves starts with a piece of wrought iron from which the head of the valve is forged in a slow two-step process to obtain an optimum material structure. The forging is then CNC machined in several steps to ensure perfect accuracy of the final dimensions. Then a heat treatment for relaxation is carried out, followed by a hardening treatment (coating process depending on the application). The valve is then ground and the surface is provided with a patented superfinish to ensure that each valve is free of material defects and the dimensions are absolutely precise.
Valves
More than 30 years of experience in the development of racing components flow into every Supertech valve we offer. State-of-the-art technology such as ultrasound examination, X-ray inspection, laser measurement and computer applications such as finite element analysis (FEA) are combined and it is no wonder that Supertech offers some of the best performance products. This is more than most manufacturers have, but by no means everything.
Supertech continues to undertake extensive testing and works very closely with many top engine builders to achieve continuous product improvement. All this is intended to help Supertech achieve an industry-leading reputation for high flow rates, durability and uncompromising quality.

Higher flow rates
Supertech valves are specifically designed for each application to achieve the best possible result. We are constantly working on improving the design through continuous development, testing and testing.

Durability
In every valve design, Supertech strives to maximize durability and tensile strength through increased fatigue resistance. Each valve has a hardness above 52HRc.

Stem Superfinish
Since 2006, all Supertech valves are equipped with the Stem Superfinish.
When the Superfinish is combined with the Nitride Black option, the surface roughness is reduced by 30% compared to a chrome-plated valve. The end result is unsurpassed performance and durability.

Strict dimensional tolerances
It is unlikely that a valve will be manufactured by competitors with tighter dimensional tolerances than those of Supertech. They have the strictest running tolerances on the market and therefore offer better sealing and therefore more efficient and lighter valves. Supertech uses the material EV8 (21-4) for inlet and outlet valves, but other alloys are also possible which are produced by various heat treatments. Other carbide alloys can be welded to make certain areas, such as the seats or tips, even less sensitive.

Supertech uses different types of coatings:

Chrome coating:
Standard option for high performance valves.

NITRIDE BLACK:
A hardening treatment that is not as well known as the chrome coating, but has significant advantages over it. The microhardness is higher than with the base coating because the ductility is altered by the nitrided layer (microhardness 800Hv minimum). The valve surface is smoother than that of chrome-plated valves and thus there is less friction between the valve and the valve guide. The nitrided layer makes the valve seat surface more resistant to lead-free fuels, alcohol, nitro or other explosive" fuels. Mixtures.
Available for any type of valve seat (spheroidal graphite iron, metal powder mixture, hard aluminium-copper mixture or beryllium-copper mixture). The nitride coating reduces power dissipation at high speeds by reducing friction in the valve guide. Opposite to the chrome layer, which is applied only on the shaft, the nitride black layer is on the whole valve. All valves are vortex polished and have a hardened tip.

INCONEL 751 - Nickel based alloys:
The nickel-base alloy is recommended for exhaust valves in turbo engines, where very high temperatures are generated.
Titanium valves:
For selected models available on request.
Are forged from high temperature titanium alloy.

Titanium nitride (TiN):
This coating is more resistant than the molybdenum layer (equivalent to 85 Rc) and covers not only the stem but also the tip and the valve seat. The perfect solution for many problems of valve wear on the seat. Used in classes like NASCAR, IRL, Formula One, BTCC. This coating is applied by PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition). We have co-developed the application of the titanium nitride coating and achieved an extraordinary quality through PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition).
