A Stage 2 optimization differs to a Stage 1 optimization only in the size of the compressor wheel. That sounds simple enough, but it is quite expensive in reality. In the first step, our experts can find out which wheel dimensions on the one hand fit into the compressor housing, perfectly complementing the other to the housing and turbocharger. Some turbo upgrades are a selection of a possible part, but without much concern for the resulting performance. Since we are able to mill compressor wheels according to our specifications, we can offer the combinations that do the maximum.
The large compressor wheel
In the Stage 2 Optimizing a compressor is selected or customized, that is larger than the standard built wheel. Which size difference arises depends on the feasibility of each turbocharger and can be inquired with us for already developed Stage 2 optimizations. The large compressor wheel is shipped of course state of the art. That is, optimized flow, with a slim hub, optimal number of buckets and Extended Tip Technology.
The compressor housing
To provide the large compressor wheel enough space, the compressor housing is machined consuming process by 5 axis CNC. Contours and gap dimensions are optimized in this context, so that the new, larger air flow rate is also used optimally.
The bearing
As in the case of Stage 1, the turbocharger is replaced during the optimization of the O.S.T. Stage 2 optimizing a special friction bearing, which has a special coating with the highest dry-running properties and bridge the lack of lubrication in eg cold start of the engine. Sometimes there are moments when the turbocharger not yet received the full oil pressure and the bearing is not lubricated sufficiently. This usually caused the gradual damage to the turbocharger over the term . Thanks to the O.S.T. Bearing the normal wear is significantly reduced and extends the life of your turbocharger.

For many turbocharger we can realize a Stage 2 optimization already within 3-6 business days. The special thing about us is that we provide not only for the optimization of best-selling turbos, but can optimize almost any turbocharger on the market. For models for which we still have no components in the offer, the development time is only 4-6 weeks.
What should be considered in the Stage 2 optimization
A Stage 2 optimization developes significant power in contrast to the standard turbocharger. Individual tuning is required in every case. Likewise, further modifications have to be made depending on the vehicle model and engine type.
The advantages of O.S.T. Stage 2
The focus of O.S.T. Stage 2 optimization is clearly on performance. In addition, of course, the lifetime is improved. Whether O.S.T. makes sense for you, you have to decide. If one or more of the following statements apply to you , O.S.T. is right for you.
I want to achieve the highest performance with my turbocharger which is sheetingable plug-n-play
The Stage 2 optimization uses the largest possible compressor wheel while retaining the original exhaust housing and compressor housing. Thus, Plug and Play installation is feasible. In this size is the power output at the upper limit.
Chip Tuning isn't enough for me, I want to set my vehicle individually
The air mass, which is funded at a Stage 2 optimization is much higher than that of the serial turbocharger. A custom engine tuning is required in every case. If you are planning to do so , anyway the Stage 2 is the right choice.
I want to have a durable turbocharger with more life
The O.S.T. Special bearing has a special coating on a special carrier material. Through this combination, the bearing is able to bridge short moments of a lack of lubrication. This lack of lubrication occurs inevitably at every cold start and other situations during the period of engine use. The O.S.T. bearing increases the life of your turbocharger.
What is O.S.T. ?
O.S.T. stands for Optimized Serial Turbochargers. During the optimization, a standard-turbocharger gets a new milled impeller, which optimizes the flow and which is especially lighter. In addition, also a special friction bearing is being installed, which has a special coating with the highest dry-running properties. Thanks to the O.S.T. Optimization your turbocharger gets significantly better performance and longer life.

These billet compressor wheels are found today in every new racing loader. Normal cast wheels are asked here rarely. Since such a wheel is machined from forged aluminum, it is also more stable and thus more resilient at high boost pressure as is the case for example in chip tuning. The O.S.T. Optimization does not reach the extreme performance of a large compressor wheel, but the response remains at least equal, if not improved, and high performance in a performance-enhanced (eg in chip tuning) engine even better. The O.S.T. Stage 1 supercharger uses an impeller, which is indeed optimized in the dimensions (height, slim hub and Extended Tip), but still fits the contour of the serial housing. Thus, the Stage 1 charger is suited much better for chip tuning, but is not as extreme as Stage 2 modifications with larger compressor wheels. With this modification, the response characteristics remains at least equal, if not improved, and the maximum power in the (eg by chip tuning) uprated engine is even better. The compressor of an O.S.T. Stage 1 turbocharger is up to 15% more efficient! The O.S.T. Stage 2 charger is equipped with a compressor wheel as large as possible. This wheel is being also fully machined, with slim hub and Extended Tip Technology. The compressor housing is adjusted on the large compressor wheel by means of complex CNC machining. With the Stage 2 version you get the maximum air passage, which is feasible with the external forms of the turbocharger. And this still plug-and-play sheetingable. And with increased efficiency up to 40%!

A Stage 1 optimization is substantially in 2 steps. The optimization of the bearing for more durability and the optimization of the compressor wheel for improved performance. In both, we make sure that the tags remain close to production. Thus , for example, no programming of the control unit will be necessary and all installation instructions of the manufacturer and service intervals can be pursued.

I want my turbocharger to build up the boost pressure earlier
The optimized O.S.T. Compressor wheel will move a larger amount of air through the compressor side of the turbocharger. This more air ultimately generates more power.
I want to reach a little more power with my turbocharger
The milled aluminum compressor wheel is much more stable than the comparable version made ??of cast aluminum and can therefore be made ??thinner. With the thinner manufacturing the O.S.T. Wheel loses weight. Due to the low inertia of the compressor wheel rotates easily and thus boost pressure builds up faster. This admittedly is not very much earlier, but the only way to ever enable an earlier build up boost.
I want a durable turbocharger with more lifetime
The O.S.T. Special bearing has a special coating on a special carrier material. On the basis of this combination, the bearing is able to bridge short moments of a lack of lubrication.
