Cartridges are the centerpiece of the turbocharger and consist of the bearing housing with all internal components and the exhaust wheel and compressor wheel. To install the compressor housing, you need the appropriate mounting set or the V-band clamp. Normaly both can be reused in case of a repair. For the turbine housing you still need the mounting set, which should be renewed in any case during a repair. If the exhaust gas housing has a internal wastegate flap, a wastegate actuator and the appropriate holding plate are needed.

The core section (CHRA) is the middle section of the turbocharger with the two wheels (compressor and exhaust wheel), which also contains the bearing. If ballbearing turbochargers have damaged bearings, it is only possible to replace the entire Garrett CHRA. There are no individual components of these turbochargers available.
